What is an intensive driving course?
An intensive driving course is a focused driving programme in which you work towards your practical exam in a short period of time. Instead of one or two lessons a week, you drive several hours per day across several days per week. The course itself is no different from a regular route: you learn the same skills, you have to meet the same CBR requirements and you take the same practical exam. The only difference is the pace at which you follow the lessons.
Because the lessons sit close together, what you learn sticks better. You build a rhythm behind the wheel faster, revisit situations within days rather than weeks, and reach in a few weeks the level a regular learner reaches over several months. For many learners this works well, especially if you prefer to learn in blocks rather than in loose hours spread over half a year.
How does an intensive course at Çakmak Driving School work?
At Çakmak Driving School you set the pace. Depending on your availability and how quickly you want to progress, we plan 3 to 5 hours of driving per day, spread across several days per week. Your instructor works out the schedule together with you, so the intensity fits the way you learn best.
The lessons themselves are identical to a regular lesson package. You get the same instructor, the same lesson car and the same build-up: from basic skills and vehicle control to special manoeuvres, complex traffic situations and finally exam training. The interim test and the practical exam at the CBR also work exactly the same as on a regular route. Only the pace at which you cover everything is different.
Who is an intensive course suitable for?
An intensive course is a good fit if you need your driving licence at short notice. Think of a new job that requires driving, a move to a place with limited public transport, or the start of a study or internship where you need to be mobile. Learners who simply want to push through and would rather not stretch their course over many months also consciously choose this route.
Who is it less suitable for? If you notice that you need plenty of time between lessons to process the theory and the handling, a regular route often feels more comfortable. Not sure? Book a trial lesson. Your instructor will assess with you whether an intensive course matches your way of learning.
How long does an intensive course take?
How quickly you finish depends on three things: your starting level, how many hours a day you are available, and the waiting time for your practical exam at the CBR. If you drive 3 to 5 hours per day and are available multiple days a week, you can be exam-ready in just a few weeks. If you have had driving lessons before or only need exam training, it will be even faster.
Keep in mind that the practical exam at the CBR has to be booked separately. The waiting time varies per region and per season. Your instructor will help you build a realistic schedule as soon as your starting level is known.
Theory during an intensive course
Before you are allowed to take the practical exam, you need to have passed your theory exam. Without a valid theory certificate the CBR cannot schedule your practical exam. Sort your theory out beforehand or run it alongside your driving lessons.

What does an intensive driving course cost?

What happens on exam day?
The practical exam at the CBR takes about 55 minutes. The examiner assesses your vehicle control, your behaviour in traffic, your special manoeuvres and how independently you drive. For many learners it is a tense day, which is why the final lessons focus specifically on exam situations.
